STATEMENT OF FAITH



This page was begun primarily as a way of disseminating the information in a small booklet which I wrote over 15 years ago titled "Why Christianity?, or WHAT Jewish Roots?" (updated 4/10/11 with a YouTube link in Part One, The "Church?") Since then, I have made a few amendments and several additions to the notes in it. It is intended as information for Christians who are open to scriptural and historical knowledge that has not been passed down to them because of misinformation, most of which was originally promulgated by the Catholic Church and had no basis in biblical authority, but was, rather, from the self-given authority of that institution.

However, our intent should be to follow the Hebraic rather than the Jewish roots of our faith; faith which comes from our spiritual father Abraham, instead of following the Jewish background which is strongly influenced by and dependent on the oral traditions which came to be written down as the Mishnah and Talmud.

Would someone please tell me where there is ONE VERSE in the Bible that tells how to "GO TO HEAVEN?"
Where is the "immortal soul" mentioned?
Where did God change? e.g., Where did he say, "Remember the first day of the week to keep it holy?"
Where did God say it was okay to pray to dead people (including "Saints" and Mary, the "mother of God") for help and protection?
Who was Jesus' father? God or the Holy Spirit? (HINT: A person can't have two fathers. Besides that, the son is not equal to the father.)
If we are to pray, baptize, etc., in the name of the Holy Spirit, what is the Holy Spirit's name? ("Holy Spirit" is a title.)

ON CHRISTIAN-JEWISH RELATIONS: "Thus says YHWH of hosts; In those (last) days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the goyim (nations), even shall take hold of the corners of the garment of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that Elohim is with you. -- Zech. 8:23

Has God commanded us to observe:
The Festival of Tabernacles (Lev. 23:34) -- or -- Christmas?
The Day of Atonement (Lev. 23:27) -- or -- Lent?
Passover (Lev. 23:5) -- or -- Easter?
The seventh day, the Sabbath, as holy (Lev. 23:3) -- or -- the day of the SUN?
(I'll give you a hint: The Catholic Church COMMANDED the second of each choice.)
WHY IS IT* that Christians today claim to follow the "Great Commission" but stop before "to observe whatsoever I have commanded you."? The Greek word in Matt. 28:20 for observe is terein, which Strong (5083) says means, "to guard (from loss or injury), hold fast, keep, serve, watch." Do you hold fast to His commands (i.e., the "LAW") or do you believe that they were done away with?

Paul said, "the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good." (Rom. 7:12)

"For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but
the doers of the law shall be justified." (Rom. 2:13)
IN PLAIN ENGLISH, THIS SAYS THAT THE DOERS OF THE LAW ARE JUSTIFIED!
Isn't that clear enough???

"He who speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but IF YOU JUDGE THE LAW, YOU ARE NOT A DOER OF THE LAW, BUT A JUDGE." (James 4:11)

"But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein and is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." (James 1:25)

YOU MAY WANT TO READ THAT LAST ONE AGAIN. IT COULD VERY WELL AFFECT YOUR LIFE!

I won't argue about it because
I DON'T SAY IT!!    THE BIBLE DOES!!!
If you want to argue about it, get on your knees and argue with the Author!
*This is a rhetorical question, of course, because they have been taught for 1700 years to follow the teachings of those having temporal spiritual authority over them (the earliest of whom were influenced by Greek philosophy and worship of Greek gods) instead of reading the Scripture and letting the Holy Spirit guide their understanding.
